Wow very impressive, it's nice to have so many guitars, each and every one carries a story to tell of a precious memory from your past. I am guessing every time you look at one it's like turning a light switch into one of the rooms of your mind where you can sit and reminisce :)

Hey Joe where you going with oops sorry  ;)
Great to see you here, as not seen you post much. Yeah about time you gave us the full story on what you've been up to, should make a great read. As for me, as you can see since we started here what 6/7 years back, I suffered badly with the GAS but luckily have an understanding wife (with her own vices I might add). Hope you and yours are all safe and well take care mate.

Cheers

Toby

Adi cheers. Yeah each has its place. Some get neglected more than others but I do try and rotate now and then to let them stretch their legs. Vary rarely play the acoustics but that said just spent a pleasant hour working with the T-Bucket 8)

Very nice collection Joe! I actually feel proud that after all these years I've still only got two acoustics and two electrics (one only bought this year) although I am GASing for a PRS SE Custom at the moment  ;D

I've probably spent significantly more on AMPS and various pedals/multifx/mixers etc. than on guitars.

Do you think all those DIY years before Justin was part of your development or did you had to unlearn a lot?
Damn... I bought this expensive Yahama Thr10 Mk2 and Fender Player stratocaster and still don't sound like Jimi Hendrix... WTF?!

Do you think all those DIY years before Justin was part of your development or did you had to unlearn a lot?

In a way. Not so much having to unlearn it was all the crucial bits that were either missing or glossed over in preference to teaching sheet music and by that I do actually mean paper, not circumventing the mods.

What it taught me and what I bang on about here time and time again, is there are no shortcuts, there are no quick wins. And if you do not learn the fundamentals of timing and strumming and feel you will amount to jack. As I said in the other post, those books bounced all over the gaff but never really explained the importance rhythm. Even when I restarted in 2011 before finding this site I bought Guitar for Dummies and Blues For Dummies, much better than past material but still all other the place. Like trying to put the roof on while the cement in the footings is still wet. There is no point trying to learn even a simple melody line if you have no clue about timing and rhythm. Its like handing someone a news bulletin and they read it out flat monotone, its meaning is lost without feel and expression or timbre. And that is what Justin provides, the strongest deepest foundation you will find anywhere. I know some folks learnt from books etc but it did not work for me that's all. Boy if he was around in 96 is all I can say. Simples.  8)
