@Bradt - it sounds familiar to me too, but I can't recall the original tune... Anyway it's great, totally my kind of music!

@Marcus - also great tune, something that I wouldn't expected, but it's amazing. And everytime when I listen to your music I realise how much I have to learn :D

Here is my wine-infused Friday night attempt. It is a blues inspired melody in F7 and C7 that starts a little sudden.

I really like all of your (very) different versions and it is a great challenge!

Good job done Joerfe.  Nothing wrong with a bottle or 3 on a Friday night...

After I started playing the guitar myself, I have developed the greatest respect for musicians that are able to play when drunk. It really is quite difficult!

Thanks everyone!

Some really cool stuff being posted.

@crossbow, nice work. It had good movement and room to breathe. There was a good feel to it.

@marcus That was good. I like how the two chords doubled as an almost percussive element. Your playing is fantastic, man.

@Joerfe you can almost hear the wine slinking around in there slurring things around. It has a good loose sort of slightly inebriated swagger to the groove. I dig it. You hit some nice melodies in there.

@cataract - lol I think I figured out where I've heard it. It's pretty similar to Marylin Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). It's very close to the first few notes, and the guitar tone fits right in.

Last Sunday my dog Dodger passed away at the age of thirteen. It was very unexpected, and I miss him very much. I played this piece for him.

@Bradt - I dunno, I guess I've heard something from Mogwai or similar band, I can't find exact track :/ But you're right, it sounds like MM indeed! Anyway, great tune!

@Joerfe  - nice, loose track! Playing after beers is way too difficult for me :D

@Borodog - I'm sorry to hear that mate :( Your track is very nice, for me it has a country vibe mixed with some nice psychedelic (not exactly, but I lack better term :/), which is pretty nice.

@ Borodog
that sucks man ... I had to take my step-daughters dog to the vet recently, she was too far gone so we had a teary farewell ... your track will hopefully send Dodger on his way to doggy-heaven with tail-a-wagging.

Wow, cool challenge and some super good entries so far. Really enjoyed listening to all of them!

I'm actually working on a course called "Funk Fusion" which is about being able to improvise over non-diatonic chord progressions (and also using some "jazzy" scales that are new to me). The example I'm practising over is just two chords - Cm7 and Abm7 - so I guess it would fit this challenge nicely.

I don't dare post anything yet though, since it still sounds like someone is killing a cat when I try to improvise over it ;) Soloing with scale modulations is hard I think!

But this topic would be a nice end goal I think.

Cheers,
Kasper

Hi Everyone,
It's been a long time since I last posted anything, and I've just recorded something that (I hope) would fit very nicely in this Challenge main assumption that 2 chords only can be used. So here is my improvisation over the gm7 - C pair (very common, e.g. Santana uses the i - IV pattern heavily).
