Guitar Challenge 0004 Team Style
« on: May 07, 2015, 02:49:24 am »
Lets see how this one will go over as team work / collab.

Two people team up from either here or get one of your friends to team with you for a collab.

This will be a mellowed out type of playing for this challenge. Something smooth and relaxing.

The song is called "Mellowed Out" in the Key of C-Major.

Here is the backing track to play your parts into: Mellowed Out

Nice job!

Is it OK if I use this backing track? It's a nice one to play along with.

@ Scooter,  Sure you can use it... Heck it seems we are not getting any takers on this one so why not play to it and post it up in here so we can hear what you came up with.

Well, I would leave the challenge running a bit longer if I were you. It's just a bit harder to get something done when it has to be a collab... especially since we're all guitarists here. I wouldn't know where to start looking for a "partner" for this one ;)

Your own entry for this one sounds good!

LOL Kasper.. If you'd like to work on it with me I'd be willing. My playing would probably just sound terrible next to yours though!

I was playing around with the song a bit today. I used some rotary/leslie on the intro chords, and some bubbly wah/delay  effects on the rest..

Started running out of ideas about half-way through

@ Kasper,  Thanks for the commit.  Its really cool to hook up with another player and become friends like Rob and I have done over the years.

I see Scooter is already asking if you want to team up. I have no plans to take the challenge down so take your time.

@Scooter,  That was a pretty cool lay out ya done on this to be just messing around. I have a feeling you and Kasper can work up something to kick butt.. Glad you like the track and good luck.

Completely forgot about this one ;)

@Scooter: Sure, we can work on a track together ;) I like your idea with the "bubble effect". I think what I should contribute is a sweet distorted melody line with a smooth tone. I'm thinking my part could kick in about halfway into the track or something...

Anyway; I have a couple of upcoming live gigs that I need to prioritize my practise/play time for, so it might be a little while still. But I'll download the track and start messing around with some ideas for a melody/solo ;)

Just started to get back into guitar and I am very, very rusty.  Would love to collaborate with someone as I'd learn a lot along the way and hopefully come up with something that is at least passable ;)

Have a basic single humbucker guitar and a Korg Pandora PX5D.

If anyone could give me the chord sequence (haven't been able to transcribe yet LOL).

Thanks, from a bedroom rock star, NOT.

By the way I'm an old F**t so be gentle :)
