IM-118 • JUSTIN Method Training Exercises flat vs sharp cords

Answers for Intermediate Foundation 1 cord progression state first two cords are a Ab and Bb. When I answered the question I stated it was a G# and A#. These are the same cord. Is there any reason the Ab and Bb were chosen as the correct answer or am I correct in assuming both are correct.

Ab and Bb would be the more 'regular, conventional' names that guitarists give to those two chords.
What you have called them is correct.
This situation is described by the phrase 'enharmonic equivalents'.
