Unusual for one of my posts to cause so much discussion. So you're correct I've simply followed the song from a BSB perspective and therefore was just using PCs on 6th string. In all honesty I was a bit dumb doing that as I can happily play on 5th string as well. I have to admit I'm not sure which I prefer although I agree you get rid of the large string slide. To be honest though I'm quite comfortable doing the large slide (although I know I've got string noise).

I appreciate I could use open chords and reduce the number of PCs but part of the reason I'm learning the song is to practice my PCs so I'm loathe to do that. IMHO I also think it sounds better with Powerchords.

Having had another practice last night I'm not sure I've done myself any favours by switching from my original approach for strumming to something that's more inline with the original as its really thrown my rhythm and I just can't at this point get the Rhythm AND the strumming pattern working together with the rhythm sounding very stilted (ignoring the PM element).

I'm on hols next week and although I'll probably smuggle the acoustic away with me will give this a rest for a few days, practice something else then come back to it a bit fresher and give it another go.

Really appreciate the discussion though and feedback. Hopefully the next time I post it it will be better.
