Name that song?
« on: January 20, 2015, 07:06:46 pm »
Hi guys. Was trying my hand at songwriting. Came up with a simple verse riff, but now I'm convinced it sounds eerily familiar, but I'm not sure what to. Does this sound like anything obvious to anyone?

Scott thanks for that it proves this old brain is still full of 5 decades of riffs, although instant recall sometimes sits on the Pause Button !!!!

With MrG and Cas I was thinking mm not sure and replayed the Woodstock set about 3 times and thought yep thats the one.Yes you never forget, its all in there somewhere. Just a matter of aligning the synapses and Dogs progression did that for me 8)

I've gotten that one a couple of times but I think I'm safe then. The similarities are pretty superficial.

I'm with both Toby and TheCasual on this, it sounds like somewhere between The Who and Blur.

It's a good rock rhythm and it may well be found in other songs too.

As for the legalities of sounding similar, how many songs sound near identical yet never a word is said?
