« on: January 13, 2015, 11:45:13 pm »
Just starting to perform live and looking for the best app to display chords and lyrics for my set  -   Probably going to use I-klip  -   any advice appreciated

I use Setlist Helper.
It's Android only.

It allows you to add a new song, then has a search option to go get the lyrics/tabs/chords.
Of the options, I always use Ultimate-Guitar.
I can very easily import the content, edit it as needed, and even change the key of the song with the 'transpose' option.
I can create set lists with breaks.
The scroll feature has speed control.

I use a 7" Asus tablet and a JamStands bracket to mount it to the mic stand.

The only issue I have is using a tablet outside.
The sun makes it almost unusable if you're not in the shade.

I hope this helps.

I use MusicReader 4.0 on an Ipad with an Airturn bluetooth foot pedal to flip from page to page.  I have probably 400+ songs loaded in it.  You can save set lists for different gigs, etc and then you just flip through them - one pedal to move forward and one to move back.  Love it

I use Tab Evo for iOS. But most of the tabs I find are different than the songs Justin made. I don't know if you can edit them, I haven't tried to be honest.

Another app I use - without lyrics - is TabToolKit which reads Guitar Pro files .gp*

FYI - for live use one of the really nice features of MusicReader is that you can easily write notes on the page and it saves them so you get them the next time - and it just writes it on top of the page so you can erase, etc.  Great for taking quick notes while rehearsing if you want to change up the order or change chords at the last minute, etc.

If all you need is to scroll text, I can create a simple scroller using JavaScript/jQuery, but you will need Internet access, because it will be uploaded to JavaScript fiddling server. You can access it from any platform/browser.
