IM DVDs vs IM book
« on: October 22, 2014, 08:29:29 pm »
Hey Guys,

I'm interested in buying the IM in some form and I'd like to know the differences between the IM book and the IM DVDs.
I assume that both the DVDs and the book contain the lessons found on the website, so my guess  would be that the only difference is in the bonus material.
Am I right?
Which option would you recommend?

BC course started in Jan 2014
IM course  started in Jan 2015
electric guitar -> Fenix Stratocaster
acoustic guitar -> eko evo 018 cw
AMP -> Fender MUSTANG 1 v2

They both have extra lessons in them. They're listed on the website.

As far as I'm aware they're both the same.

It really depends on how you learn best.

I personally learn better from video's.
Fender Modern Player Jaguar,
Fender Squier AffinityHSS Stratocaster
Vintage V100, Epiphone Dove Pro
Fender Mustang 1, Peavey Vypyr 30

The three bonus lessons for each of the 5 foundations is included in the IM book.

As Casual says it all depends on how you learn.  As for me I bought the Beginners Deluxe bundle when I started the Justin course.  As I moved to IM I thought I would just go with the online lessons and support Justin by just buying more songbooks or things like RUST 2.  What I found was I didn't realize how much I had used the Beginners Course book and ended up buying the IM book.

In the BC I would watch the video lessons once or maybe twice.  I would then have my BC book lying right there, seeing it was motivation in itself to get a practice in.   Trying to do IM without the book was a pain for me.  Have to get online and watch lessons again to make sure I knew everything I needed to be doing.  Now that I have the IM book I am back to watching lessons once (of course some techniques  Justin demonstrates I will watch again) and then have that hard copy right there to both keep me motivated and to let me get into the lesson without having to be in front of my computer.   Having the book works better for me.  TheCasual learns better from the video.   What do you think works best for you?
