Thanks very much for the words of encouragement, everyone  :). I'm working on A Girl Like You so hopefully I'll get that sorted well enough to post soon. Yes, this is quite motivational, isn't it?  ;)

Thanks for taking the time to listen and reply guys! Here we are for the next one  :).

A Girl Like You, once again recorded with my phone (technology really is amazing these days!), four down-strums to the bar with a slightly faster tempo. I'm mostly happy with where I'm at now with this track, although I would like to get those Dm chords to ring a little longer, they sound clipped off when I lift my fingers to move to the Am. Practice holding the chord down a little longer and making the change a bit faster I guess!

@ Boobook

Nice job. I remember when I did this song only a few weeks ago I had a terrible time with the Dm chord. But the chord changes sounded smooth and clear. Solid timing too. Keep up the good work.

Thanks phx1973 and BadOmega. I appreciate the support, it gives me more motivation to go pick up the guitar and keep on practicing.

I just found the previous Beginners Songbook thread too, it really is inspiring to see so many people working their way through and improving so well.  And so much friendly encouragement! What a great little forum this is  :).

It's an amazing forum all right.

As for motivation, I really want to post something new. I've been working on How to save a life but it sounds a bit boring without singing so I was determined to sing with it but it's not going so well. I will manage. Darn it.

Hi Rolandson,

I just went back and listened to your other California Dreamings as well, this one sounds a lot smoother and more confident. Nice work mate!

thanks. This song is pretty hard to play. I played this song almost everyday a few times since November.
It's the most difficult song so far on the beginner course

@Rolandson A really tricky song this one and one that equally I practiced for a long time not just following the BSB but also watching the M&Ps perform it time and time again on YouTube to try and get the rhythm right. A definite improvement from a month ago and it sounds like you're more comfortable with the chord progression. The intro will improve just by practicing it time and time again. My only comment on the chords piece is that there is still some hesitancy when changing on some chords (maybe it's the F barre in which case you could try and FMaj7 which is easy to move to) and therefore the tempo goes up and down a bit. All  understandable from a beginners perspective but that's where i'd focus my effort.

@Rolandson okay well that explains it. For what it's worth when I recorded this I didn't even try to go to the F Barre as - even today - I'd just be too slow. I used FMaj7 and I don't think you notice.
