Finding Melodies Exercise - any suggestions for tunes?
« on: March 06, 2014, 08:05:55 pm »
Hi
First of all, I think this is a really important lesson. I myself have performed on stage, done some neat solos and stuff, but when I tried to find "Happy Birthday" it was tough… So I guess this lesson is good step in the right way.

My question - I already found a few melodies that I know, like my national anthem and other stuff, does anybody have a good list of popular (and simple) melodies to practice with?
Thanks for the help

Nursery Rhymes every knows tons of them sames as Christmas Carols. Commercial jingles, TV and Movie
themes. All those tunes that get stuck in your head and bug you all day.

@Alon,

Ode to Joy! to me is one of the most beautiful melodies ever made. It is easy, but if you move it around it gets... different, not harder.

Muguello, the guy who plays *with* the guitar ;-)

Couple I found were the Star Spangled Banner, Frosty The Snowman, Star Wars theme, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer..
The correct amount of guitars is one more than you currently own

Star Spangled Banner

And of course the 'second anthem of the USA' (if I can call it that) - Amazing Grace.
Guitar, banjo, mandolin and piano, bass and percussion
Production and mixing
