Some guy on YT tested 42 ditros in 2013 and named this one 95% and #1

Oh good.... I think that Raspberry is Debian too? Maybe that will help.

If I make a USB drive, can I also install some apps on that same drive? I get mixed up on that.

Nothing crazy just some basic stiff like that LibraOffice.

Yes Raspian is Deb based.

You shouldn't need to. Both should already have most of the apps you want on their repositories. Certainly LibreOffice should be available directly on both.

Although they are both debian based, there's some complexity to trying to install apps set up for one distro into another. It's best to use the ones designed for the specific distro if you can. It's because different distros ship with different "stuff".
