We Came As Strangers - introduction

In December last year I went into the studio with my band for a few weeks and made a record, turned out way better and more interesting than we could ever have thought and we're happy to announce that it will be out on May 6

We have started a new "Pledge" campaign. So with the Pledge campaign you get some really interesting things... as well as buying the download as a pre-sale, we've got a whole heap of super cool exclusives you can buy too, some very limited stuff (Ellem's lyric book and the Fender Baritone Guitar I used on the record) and cool extras like TAB sheets, original hand drawn charts, making of DVD and a whole lot more!!

But possibly even more special is that for the 2 months leading up to release, we'll be posting loads of cool stuff ONLY for those people who have pledged to buy the album!! All the band will be doing stuff and you'll get to see photos, video's of the making and recording of the record, fun stories and tips and tricks on the process. We'll even be involving you guys on the artwork developments where you can vote on art options (as of now we have no artwork, but have a bunch of volunteers helping out and we'll be asking for your contributions soon too!!!!).

It's going to be loads of fun.

I don't know what the goal is, maybe it's mentioned somewhere, I just haven't noticed yet. Last time I checked, they were only at 7%. So everybody go and pledge now

Buy that guitar, TB? With what? I'm on a fixed income and that thing goes for more than 2 month incomes......

FWIW though, I would have pledged for it if I could, but I would've asked them to donate it to a good cause.

As fas as the SG goes, it's not signed. But I wouldn't part with it anyway

What do you mean; can't pay online?
there are various ways to pay, and it is all safe!
I set up a paypal account and linked it to my credit card. it's safe and super easy.
Check out the other payment methods.
If you like to donate but fail; ASK OUR HELP; we'll find a way!
for example:If you fail to pay online, I offer help to Belgian users: wire me the cash trough a regular bank transfer and as soon as I get it, I transfer it to the pledge. We'll exchange a mail in which we declare to send/receive the money and I send a receipt of the pledge. Much is possible

if you're too young; you might donate some parts of your allowance? make a deal with your parents and let them donate while you repay them with parts of your weekly cashers

I am seriously thinking about putting up my own pledge site to raise a thousand dollars and get the band to cover one of my songs. Of course they'd have to think it was not terrible but I have so many to choose from

In the meantime I'm overdue to buy the CD so off I go.

If I were more reckless I'd pledge now and raise the money over the next month... but I'd have to stop all the songwriting to make the time to train more dogs. Decisions, decisions....

Heck I've toyed with the idea just so I could suggest a song I love... but then I saw the disclaimer and I realised they're never going to try and sing in Dutch. Which is odd, as there are plenty of Dutch bands that sing in English, so why not the other way 'round

Would've LOVED to hear them try, though.

Nah, just kidding. But I did mean what I've said before. If only the campaign lasted until the 23rd, since I've got some money coming in then... I'd be able to pledge more instead of just the T-shirt and signed CD+DVD. I do really like the disposable camera idea, so I may end up adding that eventually.

By the way Justin, is there any particular reason the goal (as in: the amount of money you want/need) isn't mentioned anywhere? All other crowd funding campaigns I supported thus far all showed what the goal was. It might help (or it might not, I don't know).
