A Must Have ! Pure and simple.

You'll understand so much better what is going on on the guitar...

Can't wait for part 2 !

Got the pdf last night and although I've only gone through the first few pages I'm really enjoying getting to grips with guitar theory. Everything is explained very clearly so far!

Got the app Note trainer app too which really helped with getting to know the notes on the fretboard in a fun and challenging way. I prefer to get a complete understanding of each lesson before moving on as I don't want to get too confused.

Thanks for the fantastic material Justin!

Hi Justin and staff,

Just curious, could you update us on the potential of releasing this as a physical product?  It looks like in June 2013, the estimate was a year or so.

Thank you.

I've mentioned in another thread that due to tennis elbow I'm going to have to take a break from playing the guitar.

Just wondered if there is any further development in the availability a hard copy of Practical Music Theory in the near future, or should I just go ahead and order the e-book. Would prefer a 'real' book if possible.

It's only 45 pages long. I've printed it out and put it in a ring-binder.

Tim : thanks for your very quick reply! Yes as you say 45 pages isn't too much, I'm sure my printer can cope. :)  Ring-binder is a good idea, think I'll go for it.

I'm about half way through the theory program.

The best thing by far is the fact that it is very basic, which is great for a beginner.

I have tried a couple of other theory for guitar books but they seem to go from basics to advanced stuff way to quickly.

Justin's method covers everything you need to know in a logical progression of lessons.

Sorry if this has been asked before. Can I download this ebook directly onto my iPad or does the download process just work on Mac/PC?

Thanks in advance,
Fatih

Hi all,
learning the key notes on the fret board by remembering 3 gay cats with sparkling collars and little leather pants dancing to YMCA on a fence.
Became curious?
Just go and spend just 10£ for this great piece of paper and learn music theory the unusual way.
Absolutely amazing...

Why Music theory?

Ok you are learing to know alot about the guitar but does it help you to learn songs faster and play them better?

It's excellent. Just get it. It may look like just another 43 page PDF but it really does explain things so clearly.  In just 2 hours I found I actually understood all topics (which for the last year have left me lost) up to half way through the CAGED system which is when the beer started to take effect. I reckon I'd have spent more time just looking for the "right" book in a book shop only to leave without one, frustrated yet again.  If a guitar lesson costs 20 quid/euros/gumbobeads and lasts 40 minutes then this book is equivalent to  20 minutes of lesson but will actually teach you what you'd maybe learn in 10+ theory only classes (well, that's my guess). Basically, all that for the price of 3 of 4 beers. If you're just starting off I'd say  it's a no brainer.

I just purchased it and love it!  I would really love a Ukulele version of this as well!,  😀
