PLEASE PUT REVIEWS HERE - but not questions...
« on: June 14, 2007, 03:53:34 pm »
Hi

Hopefully some of you are getting a chance to go through it - please let me know your thoughts here.

Reviews both good and bad welcome - good ones help sell it - and bad ones help me improve it :)

DON'T PUT QUESTIONS HERE  - PLEASE MAKE EACH QUESTION A NEW THREAD SO IT BESTS HELPS OTHERS THAT MIGHT HAVE THE SAME QUESTION.

Thanks my friends

I'm only up to page 7 and the fretboard is already beginning to make sense to me! I highly recommend this book.

I always study the structure of a obok first before reading and studying itself...

The sequence seems very logical to me and even though I haven't learned the "gotto learn this by heart" stuff yet;

I already got all the concepts.. You DE-mistify A LOT

It was all quite clear, but if I need to name something:
The piece of text I found the least clear wes perhaps the part with "chord finding" exercise to it etc...
I'll try to put down in words later; when I study it more profoundly, what perhaps could be the problem for me or the text

The CAGED part was a real eye-opener!

This product has helped me tremendously.  I've already recommended it to two of my friends that are just starting out.  I just hope I can find a binder here in the US for it.  Thanks for all of your great help.

I just hope I can find a binder here in the US for it.

A4 (the standard paper-size in the U.K.) size binders are available here in the U.S. (I think Staples sells them), but they cost a lot more than our normal 8.5x11 inch binders. Expect to pay from $15 to $20 for one, if you find it. The cheapest I've found them on-line is $10, but then there are shipping and handling charges on top of that, so it works out to about the same as the in-store prices.

I'm waiting for one to be available from Justin. :)

For The Six Key Tones, I decided I needed one mnemonic (not pneumonic, btw, but who am I to quibble?), instead of three, so from across the strings from 3rd to 7th frets, we have Green Cats And Dogs Blend Effortlessly (they're in the jungle, obviously). They may be hard to visualise, tho, cos you can't really see them they're so well camouflaged.

Sorry.

i know i spelled it wrong... it's fixed for next edition - there are a few more too - no matter how many times you read it you never get them all till it's printed :)

i learned my dots but kept frets 5 w. the same mnemonic (sp?), but at the 3rd fret i use "Godiva Chocolate".  3rd fret/the trinity in the godhead + chocolate mm mmmmm  and on the 7th *bald eagle* seems to stick in my head.  whatever works, right?
