The solo fits over the top of the 12 bar blues.
As it's a 12 bar blues in the key of A, you can just improvise using the minor pentatonic with an A root (5th fret), however that doesn't get covered until a later stage (just checked and it's stage 7).

It's one of many things that will make more sense as you work through the beginners course.

It's a 12bar blues because it's using certain chords in a certain order, which will become clearer once you learn about a basic 12 bar blues (which is covered in stage 8, or in even more depth in the Blues Rhythm course).

It's a 12 bar blues because it covers 12 bars (measures) then repeats. A 16 bar blue will cover 16 bars
and an 8 bar will cover 8 bars
You're at stage two you have a lot to learn before you tackle soloing.
Work on your chord changes and rhythm.
Remeber to have fun and learn songs.
