Nederlandse vertalers?
« on: April 25, 2012, 07:28:02 pm »

Hi Chantal,

Ik spreek Nederlands omdat ik Vlaming ben :)

But try to speak English on this forum as much as possible :)
If you want to help; send a mail [email protected] !

There still is a lot to do for Dutch I think, so always welcome!

Hey Chantal,

Ik ben een tijdje geleden begonnen aan een vertaling van een les, maar heb hem niet afgemaakt. Ik zal het straks even afmaken. Het enige probleem waar ik tegenaan ben gelopen is de typisch Engelse dingetjes moeilijk te vertalen zijn zonder ze eigen te maken aangezien sommige dingen in het Nederlands toch een beetje anders gezegt worden.

Hi Daan,

I'd answer you in Dutch but I understood we're supposed to keep it in English. Anyway, I see what you mean and if you have any issues with translating those kinds of things, that's what this section is for. Or you can PM me or another Dutchie. I've done a lot of translations and transcripts so far, so I am getting pretty used to Justin's signature phrases. Would be happy to help!

Groetjes, Chantal

Hi all,

I've just done my first revision, although I don't know if I'm supposed to press 'accept' or 'send back'. I pressed accept without paying a lot of attention, so... Sorry if I already ruined it  :P
I'm looking forward to do more though. It's sort of my way to pay Justin back, since he's basically the reason I can play guitar now  :D

Groetjes,
Lars

Hey Lars,

Basically, if the person who translated the video made an utter mess of it, you can send it back. If you don't have to change anything or only a few little things, you can do that yourself and accept. That's about it :)

Groetjes!

Ik had me ervoor aangemeld in 2009 ofzo. Maar ik heb het direct opgegeven omdat ik ik de eerste zin al niet mooi kon vertalen. ;D

I applied for it in 2009 but I gave up immediately because I couldn't even translate the first sentence properly. ;D

Yeah, I got a random lesson's Word file handed to me and I read that first line and went like 'oh no...'.

It would be good practice though.

Gotcha. I don't go there often and don't know many over there, but I guess others know me... it's always like that! ;D

Just started my second translation. What struck me as kind of odd is that the first lesson I translated shows two names as translators but not mine? Anyone got an idea why that is?

Hallo vrienden,

Hello friends,

I'm a dutchie aswell and don't mind helping out now and then.
Even if it's just helping someone out who is dutch and is having a hard time understanding
a lesson. If you need help, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do for you!

We might be able to chat if you want help on the spot.
It's awesome that this site exists and without it, I would have missed loads of
information about music. So i would be happy to do something in return.
A simple question about a lesson would be fine too, so don't hesitate!

Love,
JulieSun

Hey everybody. I'd like to try to help with Dutch translations. Is there anything I should know, or should I just pick a video or lesson?

Hi Greenish,
Thanks so much for your interest in helping us out with translations, we really appreciate all the help we get :)
Firstly sorry for the late response, like I said we do really appreciate all the help we get but unfortunately these last couple of months management of the translations has taken a back seat whilst there's been a lot of work to do on the website.
If you're still in doubt hopefully this will help:

Are you a member of Amara?
If not have a look here as to how to join our Translation Team, http://www.justinguitar.com/translation-team/join_team.php

Already a member of Amara...
If you're already a member  then yep! :) you can just go for any Dutch translation tasks that are available. Keep to translation tasks for now, and you can do reviewing tasks later on , if you'd like, once you're more familiar with the system.

To start tasks follow these guidelines:
Go to: http://www.universalsubtitles.org/en/teams/justinguitar
Click on the 'Tasks' tab to see a list of translation / transcription / review tasks to do.
You can narrow the search for tasks by using the Filter and Sort' option!
On the right of the task you’d like to do, click on ‘Perform task’.
When you begin the task, Please do not skip the video!! These short instructional videos and guidelines will guide you through how to make the edits.
Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines (below link) before beginning any tasks.

Cheers :D

Is Justin still looking for Dutch translators?
I'm just a beginner at playing the guitar, and don't have a budget to donate yet, but maybe i can help with translating?

Greetings from Belgium :-)

edit: i signed up and made an  account on amara, just waiting to get a task now :-)
