I tunes jam blues Guide
« on: April 23, 2012, 10:08:57 pm »
Hi guys,
I purchased Justins Jam Blues off itunes a few months back and i'm just now getting around to doing some jamming.  I was wondering if there is a guide to what scales are suggested to play over each of the tracks.  Some of them are obvious by the name, even though it took me all but 5 seconds to realize "A Sad Minor Blues" is really in the key of B minor.  Don't think i didn't try to fit an A minor on top of it just to see if Justin was messing with me..
lol
anyway, if there is a guide, let me know.
Does anyone post there jams over these tracks out on the web?  Like perhaps on Soundcloud?  Its easy to get in a 'lick rut' and hearing other people helps me added to my blues vocabulary.
Thanks
-John

Have you looked at justins lead blues lessons on the site?

Yes, I have all the blues lessons from youtube bookmarked but haven't gone through all of them.  Mostly working through, pent and dorian scales and licks.  does he cover the blues jam tracks from itunes in the youtube videos?
thanks

No,  but he gives quite a few licks to bolster your vocabulary.

And in either the rhythm or lead section he talks about finding keys.

There is a post just a couple down from this one that confirms you Bm find and the scone one is in Am not Dm.  The rest I think are labeled.
