Need --GOOD--- media downloader for Pale Moon
« on: March 25, 2012, 03:33:02 pm »
I need a good video downloader for Pale Moon.

I installed one named Youtube download 12.x and that has this crazy Skipity thing attached to it that is a mess.

What's a good, safe, light weight download add on.

Yes.

I installed one named Youtube downloader and they have teamed with that skipity deal which is useless and obtrusive.

I just want the name of a good one.

OH, ok, you mean the one named Video DownloadHelper ?

Ok, yeah that's what I want. I think that's what I used to have. I must have gotten mixed up when i installed the other one.

Do you know off the top of your head

(medium) xxxxxx.mp4
(720) xxxxx.mp4

Is medium higher rez or lower rez than 720? Or why they decided to not use a number

Found it -- -720 is much higher rez.....

Thanks, you da man...... I don't care what the others say

Just in case you need to look any further......... I use my download manager to grab media direct from flash or audio streams. It's 'Internet Download Manager' should you wish to take a look. It can open up to sixteen streams to download too........... so much faster than a single stream download.

10-4..... actually I think I'm just going to shoot myself. It will be easier......

I just got this thing running pretty well and had everything configured. Ready to call it good.

Realized I had V9 of Pale Moon. they now have V11. So I download it and realize the V9 was installed in my 32bit area. So I install V11 in 64 bit area. Everything went well, all settings are kept.

SO then I decide to delete V9 and I clicked teh delete settings and bookmarks...... DAMN!!!

Back to ground zero....... Oh well.... I had just got some good bookmarks too...

I can't believe I did that.

I need an external bookmark area on my desktop that can't be deleted by mistake and can be organized as I desire.

Your bookmarks should be stored as an HTML document in your profile directory.  It's probably called bookmarks.html.  You may even find that your profile directory still exists and your bookmarks are safe, but finding it would require knowing where mozilla derivatives store the profile direcory on windows (which I don't.)  Consider hunting for a directory with "mozilla" or "pale" in its name.

I think the V9-32 and V11-64 must have stored things in the same place.

I'll search for it though.

I've actually found some .json files that are supposed to be bookmark backups. Not sure how to use them.

That's too xx--xx easy.

Actually my json files are too new. Pale Moon wiped them out. Or I wiped them out would be most correct.

I might can search out some old ones though scattered on all these drives.
