Cheers Dan. I'll try that. I always update stuff when it comes up, but I'll check anyway and let you know  how I get on mate.

Irish-

In Firefox, click on Help.... and select 'Start With Addons Disabled'.

It's 'safe mode' for Firefox. If all works as it should after that, it points right at the problem being one of those extensions or plugins.

I never saw that response from you Wishbone. It never came up in my unread posts. It happens sometimes, but I don't know why like.

Anyway, I've been using Pale Moon and I haven't had any problems for the last 2-3 days. Everything's running as it should and I haven't even changed or disabled anything. I'll touch wood and put it down to a glitch or the computer gremlins I suppose.

Cheers for your help though lads.

If you're happy with Pale Moon then all well and good but have you uninstalled FF yet? If not then you might try creating another profile. I've found that this cures most problems.
Here's a page giving help on how to do this.

Good luck with it irish. I've never come across what you describe so sorry I can't be of more help.

Cheers Ben. Aye, I'm happy with Pale Moon now mate. It's basically FF but a lot faster as far as I can see so I'll be sticking with it for now.

Thanks for heads up on Pale Moon. I'd been running a very laggy Firefox. Pale Moon seems much better.

I found older versions of Firefox to work best.

I run Widnows, Linux and Mac OS X on my Macintosh and have Firefox and Safari as default browsers and found the best one is Firefox. Safari doesn't render (load) my e-mail account applications and websites I test. I'm yet to test Chrome but I am not fond of it. I like the add-ons of Firefox for my web developing.

Pale Moon is still better.
It outscores any very of Firefox after the 3.xxx versions.
