So I was listening voodoo child:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoAXW30mMAg

The solo starts at 1:54, somehow it was familiar and I got a flashback to I shot the sherif. I looked it up again. And well listen for yourself:

The timing is spot on 1:54

1:54 - 1:57 two seconds of Hendrix power in Justin

I know its just a pentatonic lick, but I thought it was kinda funny  ;D

Too much focus on the guitarist, not enough on the bassist.

Amazing.  Love Asa more than Katie!  Just her voice!  Justin never fails to impress me.  I really love his playing, his style, and OMG he's having such a good time.  I was just dazzled by this entertaining vid!

It's a great example of taking one of another player's 'words' as Justin describes in his Blues lessons and using it in your own playing.

It's be interesting to know where Hendrix learned the word.

Although, it does kinda sound like Justin is playing the melody of the of the line "I shot the sheriff" with the guitar.  Same number of syllables.

I dont think Jimi learned his "words from anyone" he invented the entire alphabet so that the rest of mankind could communicate throught the neck of a guitar. lol

considered influences

Ray Charles,
Muddy Waters,
T-Bone Walker,
John Lee Hooker
B.B. King
considered

from wiki:
According to fellow Seattle bandmates, he learned most of his acrobatic stage moves, a major part of the blues/R&B tradition, including playing with his teeth and behind his back, from a fellow young musician, Raleigh "Butch" Snipes, guitarist with local band The Sharps. Hendrix himself performed Chuck Berry's trademark "duck walk" on occasion

Awesome to see justin perform like that!
Btw just a side-note, music is about expressing your feelings, right?
If you can relate to someones music and use it your own way, thats just great :D
