Questions on the new method and suggestions etc...
« on: November 28, 2010, 03:52:37 pm »
So now you guys have seen the new intermediate method - what thinks you?

I got my work cut out for me doing all the new stuff for the Style Modules but it's gonna be fun! :)

I know the lessons ain't up yet - but thought I'd get a post here to answer questions about it!

Think I have a good balance for it - was about the 10th version befre I was happy with it... hope you dudes and dudettes will dig it too!

Looks really, really cool Justin! Already pre-ordered and can't wait to get started. :D The extra lessons on the DVD also seem really nice. I also like the strategy of keeping the essentials free but adding some extras for the DVD.

Do you have some snippets of info about the different style modules? Like how detailed it's going to be, the structure of the modules, etc.?

I have really been looking forward to this for reasons you spell out yourself,Justin. Structure and achievable progression. I had not been using the site as much since finishing the Beginners Course which I still think is amazing and the reason I continue to practise and enjoy the instrument. Looking forward to increasing my skills and enjoyment with your new Course. Many Thanks.

I've already started the Blues lead guitar and Master the major scale courses and seem to be making reasonable progress. So do you think I should combine these with the Intermediate method or put them on hold untill I complete the foundation stages?

Will you be making the DVDs available for ISO download as well?

This Intermediate Method was really great, but I'm not sure what to do after I finished it, so, where should I go now? I'm able to do the goals in the consolidation, thanks

@omarfloyd1327: the question is not really where you should go, but rather where you want to go. What kind if music would you like to play? Like close wrote, there are a number of style modules and a number of special topics. See what fits in with the music you want to play.

If you are primarily "a rocker" I would do the blues style first, the go to the master major scale studies...

But if you want a more well rounded "go anywhere" back ground I would go to the master the major scale first.

Actually I would recommend ALL the style modules in almost any order EXCEPT I would save the jazz stuff for last.  Jazz gets into more sophisticated thinking, difficultish chord grips, and I think of as generally one of the most difficult arenas of guitar.

On man's opinion...

Apologies if this isn't the right thread (I'm not trying to bring the forum into a meltdown:P)

I'm on IM Foundation 2 at the moment and can see I'll be there for quite a while.... and I'm done with the JUSTIN exercises in this module. So I was thinking of using that 10 minute slot to do a bit of either the transcribing or aural training essential development modules. Any thoughts on which of those I should start first?

The aural training will help you with the transcribing. Once you can identify notes by ear it makes
transcribing a lot easier.
