UK Private Lesson Tour:
« on: July 29, 2010, 07:07:12 pm »
So I'm trying to work out which cities to visit on my UK teaching tour... planning for October.

So what you think?

If I came to the city would you front up 50 quid for a 50 minute lesson?

Might try and run some cheaper group workshops too - depends on numbers...

Obviously I can't come to every city, but if you live in a big city I have missed, then leave a comment below and maybe I will add it in there!

Thanks for your help and hope to see some of you soon...

Should be interesting

yes to Exeter.

Could probably also line you up with some paid gigs in the area in you were hanging around for a night or two.

Big AYE to either option in Glasgow too. I could probably get a few of the guys in the guitar club at work to commit too. Although most of them don't frequent this Forum, they are fans of the site.

Dude, I'd front up £50 for Swindon. It's between Oxford and Bristol too so you'd be passing by! You could even drop in to my house even nobody else says Swindon!

What standard do you think a student would have to be to benefit from that sort of lesson?

Had the benefit of a session a few days ago. He picked up on several technique flaws I've developed and the best way to resolve them.
Any standard of player can use that sort of input. Probably worth having at least the basic chords and fingertips tough enough to last the session to get the most out of it, but that's about it.

Voted for Newcastle, but Durham is much much nicer btw  ;). I would certainly be happy to stump up 50 for a lesson.

Justin,

If you came to Belfast I would book two lessons with you.  I've enjoyed learning from you via your website and it would be great to get a lesson one-to-one.

Hi there,

I have never taken any guitar lessons in real-time (i.e. in person), and I was simply wondering: what can be achieved in 50 minutes?

Pardon my simpleness!

Justin gave me a stretching exercise to help control my pinky, corrected a problem with my A shape barre, adjusted my picking angle, picked up on incorrect vibrato and bending technique, suggested a few specific video lessons to improve lead improv and set my mind to rest over barre stamina.

That's a whole heap of useful.

Brighton should definitely be on your list. There's got to be a load of people down here learning from you. Plus it's just an awesome place to be.
