Anybody using Firefox?(problems)
« on: June 30, 2010, 08:32:15 pm »
The latest update of Firefox. Anybody using it? Have you got problems with it?

I keep getting Youtube videos playing in patches - the sounds ok but the picture is jerky. Also, it hangs for quite a bit at times, and I cannot do anything until it decides it's ready. Is it just me?

v3.6.6 I think.

Do you use multiple tabs Ragz? Just asking because that's when the problems seem to start.

Funny, but it seems to be working like a dream at the mo', ever since I made this thread. :-\ I've had problems with it since I booted up at teatime. Must've been a glitch.

My car never seems to display any of its numerous problems when in the hands of a mechanic...

I've had this before the update. My channel loads, the video plays, the video hasn't faded in and I can't click or open anything until it's loaded. It's weird. In the previous version it would just load in a couple of seconds, but in the current version, at least today, it took like half a minute.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, Cue. What you've just described is exactly what happened to me earlier. Now I know it's a Firefox problem, and I don't have to go looking around my system for solutions.

This is doing my head in now. I've just tried to watch Justin's Hysteria video and the same thing happened about 3 or 4 times. It's telling me something about scripts gone wrong on the page - do I want to continue running the script or stop it, and the whole thing just completely hangs for a bit. Seems to be this time of day. No doubt it'll be sound in an hour or two.

If this keeps up, I'll be seriously looking into another browser. Shame, coz I've always used and loved Firefox.

Hey irish, I've seen that error window a couple of times too. But it only seems to happen when I'm running RAM- or CPU-heavy programs like Adobe Premiere, After Effects or when Media Encoder is exporting a video.

That cannot be the problem, Cue. I've only got Firefox running and the CPU is only running at between 2-5% - RAM usage solid at 30%. Funny again, but since I made that last post I've managed to watch that Hysteria video with no probs.

I used to use Firefox but after experiencing similar problems I have switched to Google Chrome. Works great for me.

I hate chrome, the interface is extremely bad...plus it doesn't scale to my display (1920x1080) so every page has a font so small it is unreadable..
FF latest update DOES have issues....youtube stutters a bit and hangs on loading videos at times.. noticed they have a new plugin-container.exe that runs as a process for running videos now...that's prolly the culprit
