why some humbuckers have two lines of polepieces and others only one line? is this cosmetics, or the one with two lines have more output, or hotter?

Humbucker covers hide the second row, it's just cosmetic.

Humbucker covers hide the second row, it's just cosmetic.

This, although some humbuckers, even with covers, still show both rows.
It is indeed all just cosmetic though.
As an example, there's the BKP Warpigs, which show 2 rows of hexheads sticking out of the covers : http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=20963.0

It's not just cosmetic. The other set of poles does perform a function to cancel the hum. Differences in the two coils and their poles is usually small enough that it doesn't adversely affect the hum canceling. So that second set need not be adjustable.

I meant that when it comes to the covers, it's just cosmetic TB, with hiding the second row of bobbins  :)
And i see tourni thought the same way.

That's why I said it's not "just" cosmetic. Not to suggest that anyone was wrong but simply that there was a little more to the story.

All humbuckers have two coils and two sets of poles of some sort. Be they individual pole pieces or some type bar pole. Hidden or not, they are there and needed.

the cover, from my understanding, is to hide the rows of pole pieces and make it more cosmetic appealing.  Now, why there is one row not covered and another is hidden?

how  could you adjust the hight of pole pieces? do you remove the cover.  Or only you raise or lower the exposed pole pieces?????!

this is the case with agile pickups for example by the way

got it, yes
so it means you still have to adjust the two rows of polepieces for pup's height

sorry, it is me who didnt scroll up , I got it clear as mud now, lol
one to cancel the hum, and the second row is not needed to be adjusted, that is why it is sometimes hidden
