new backing track? longer one?
I'd record one myself but I'm nursing a tendon strain in my left hand :(

Well, since you're using Mixcraft  (i recognised that bass guitar from the times i used to use mixcraft, hehe. For instant band in a box, that app is great (limited but great for the price and creating really quick tracks)), you could just stretch out the entire track another couple of minutes to let the rest of us get a chance with it ;)

lol I am realising how poor my recording equipment is. and how late I am :p

if the track can be extended with the other solos in already, I might have another go with my camcorder and see if thats any better

I found it after TBs addition and took so long getting around to having a go that it had already been finished :p

it was fun playing tho ;)

I've extended it with space for another 4 solos (and can probably add more if the need arises).

Well that was an effort :p

finally found a way to record that sounded a bit better than all the other methods I tried ;)   still a bit dodgy sound wise but I had a go.
Think I tried to do a bit more than I am capable of really ... had been listening to a particular song that influenced the way I went.
Anyway thanks for extending the file. I hope more get added ;)

I will keep this file and try stealing everyone else's licks I think ;)

sounds cool but it's kinda quiet in the mix, worth giving it a boost if you can.

I really need to practice my lead. I had a fun doing this. I've been doing this for an hour trying to get something that was alright. I can get a couple tasty licks but overall the solos I've been making stink.

I'll add mine in just because:

Try creating melodies or licks using your voice (or whistling if you're that way inclined) and when you find something you like, match it on the guitar and expand on it.
Let it cook for longer if that's what it takes.... gave mine a couple of days to develop.

Great idea this. I've put my little bit in. It was a first take, I just jammed along as I listened to the rest of the track to get set. It seems I have reduced the file size (or rather audacity has had the audacity to do so!) but I don't think the quality has dropped off. I am totally lost off with who did what solo here, but there is some really good stuff here. It's good to hear the contrasting styles.
Can I just add, not only is this first take, but also the first time I have ever aired any of my playing for critique!

I'll extend it to 12 if someone steps up to fill position 8 (whoever it may be, try not to carry any notes into the ending section as they would likely get lost in the extension)

Oh.... and grats on first audio post ;)

Haha! Learnt my first lesson straight away. Too much time jamming to backing tracks instead of real people makes a novice overrun. Thanks for pointing that out tourniquet, I only realised that on listening again after your reply.
