Epiphone ES-333 Pickups?
« on: February 28, 2010, 06:06:42 pm »
Are there any other pickups I can use on the Epiphone ES-333 besides the "Dirty Fingers" pickup that is already on the guitar?

About 5000 different ones* from different brands.
What kind of sound difference are you looking for ?
What kind of amp are you using ?
What genre do you play ?

*Exaggerated number, but there are a LOT of different brands and pickup models to choose from.
Some would argue there are even too many to choose from

I'm looking for more sounds like Angels and Airwaves and stuff with delays. I want just a regular clean sound, no effects on it. Right now the amp I have is a 30 Watt Peavey, but I'm buying the new Line 6 70 Watt Amp.

So, you're going from one cheap amp to another.
I'd say save up for something more decent then some crappy line 6.
That will probably help a lot already.

Well, amp wise, i'd need to know if you will be playing alone, at home or with a band/jamsessions (or all of those), and what kind of budget i'm looking at.

Pickups wise, if you want a clean sound, i'd look at some pickups from Seymour Duncan, Bareknuckle Pickups (Stormy Monday, PG Blues or The Mule models), Lollar, Fralin or Buldog, with alnico II or IV magnets.

Reason i only list models for Bareknuckle is that i actually know those, the other brands i'd be solely going off other people's recommendations.
