Found the ADK A-6 at frontendaudio.com, putting it up against the Avantone CV-12, Audio-Technica AT4040 and 4033, Rode NT2-A CAD Trion 8000, the Oktava M219 and M319, and the sE Electronics Z3300A.
Half of these mics have multi-pattern capabilities, this might just be helpful, even though I'm just starting out with recording.
Guitar, banjo, mandolin and piano, bass and percussion only when needed

Forget that last post, I missed the discount.
This kind of threw me back thinking about what I was gonna get.
Now thinking of getting two microphones (LDC: AT4040, AT4033, KSM27, round that price, for an SDC: MK-012, KSM137).
Guitar, banjo, mandolin and piano, bass and percussion only when needed
