I purchased the Blues Solo box set yesterday so when that turns up it should provide lots of good new fodder....

Through the Barricades - Spandau Ballet
Thousand Roads - David Crosby
Man's Too Strong - Dire Straits
I Don't Want To Talk About It - Rod Stewart

All acoustic, 'cos my electric playing is getting a little fixated lately.

I generally prefer to play acoustic - but I feel I've been neglecting my electric guitar skills, so I pulled out Nezzie (Ibanez Strat) and tried Justins 5 licks in the blues lead guitar lessons - man who said electric is easier than acoustic? After an hour or so of full tone bends on 10's my fingers are shredded and the cat wont come anywhere near me - it's amazing how high he can jump to a full tone bend at the 1st string, 8th fret - that will teach him to sit on top of the Roland ;D

Having a heck of a time with the last section of Christmas Eve in Sarajevo where Sklonick goes crazy doing that E natural minor run at the speed of light. Looks like I will be working on this through Christmas Eve of 2014.

Struggling with the intro to Sweet Home Alabama. Due to the crappy tab I learnt it from I now have to unlearn it then learn it again. The moral of the tale is; always trust your ears, never an internet tab.

Barré it is. I can play them but I kinda suck at it since I don't need them too often (I guess only F, F#m and Bm).
I was just trying to transcrube some bass bits from (seemingly) simple songs.

Barre is French? I always thought it was Spanish.... hmmmm I have no language skills either....

Xaro this post surprised me - dont get me wrong I'm not being critical (I've neglected bends for 25+ years so I'm in no position) - do you mean all barre chords or just the narly C, G, & D shape?

Having heard you play I assumed you knew the E & A shapes....

Cheers, Bootstrap
