Closed my eyes and I can see Jimi playing in the studio. Lights down, incense burning, maybe a doobie drooping from the producers mouth and this smooth sound comes rippling out of the speakers. Wow.

Very nicely done, and one of my favorite tunes. If you make this into a lesson that would be awesome, even just to tab it out so we can follow along with the video. Even so I will try to follow along anyway.

Such a great job.  I love listening to you play.  How many years have you been playing?

Hey DC, smooth work  :)

I really like the way you groove along with the beat and make music, not just play notes.
It is almost like you are feeling like Jimmy, not just copying him, coz it sounds so relaxed and natural.

Keep at it DC.

Smoooooth, real smooooth  8)

Stupid forum

here was what I typed

kind words, thankyou, it is a great song to play, I am a firm believer that hendrix songs should be learned by everyone :)

Hackman - its hard to say, I have had a guitar for about 17 years, picked one up when I was at college and bashed it for a couple of years with a basic chord book as my tutor, its always been around and I often would bash it for a while and try to learn songs and bits of songs, but about 3 years ago I got right back into it and found this site and actually learned something about what I had been doing all these years :p  I think those years really helped in some way ( lthough perhaps not the most prucitve way )  it has helped me move faster now I think than if I had jsut started 3 years ago, and has helped me pick things up quicker, now I am actually being a little more constructive in my practice ( although still fairly unfcused a lot fo the time, I tend to obsess over learning something and not really practice much else every so often )

I think that that asylum does a cooler version, mine is played fairly straight and dull on the verse, all those little licks that asylum does sound way cooler.

I do have a new camcorder so I should start figureing it out, but I am a little strapped for time lately, so it might tak me a while to figure it out, I might have to do an extra lesson on patience as people keep saying I wasnt clear enough on the second part :p One guy was very angry about it lol
