Ok, so if I speed painted a picture and it looked like crap would anyone be impressed with it ?

No of course they would'nt

But if I speed painted a picture and it looked like the mona lisa then that would be a different story

You've probably seen this but watch it anyway then ask yourself did I enjoy that ?

I would guess probably not. but its technically very good

Now do you see what people are trying to tell you

demonstration or not. speed on its own means nothing.

Peace

Shredder haters represent!

Musically, your video is terrible. You can play really fast though, especially if that is truly 60% of what you are capable of.

I have a story for you:

I once had the opportunity to go get a free bass guitar lesson from Victor Wooten, since i had bought some tickets to see one of his shows. I am not much of a bass player but i went anyways. One thing that he said was to always find ways to practice musically. For example, instead of playing scales up and down or random notes, do things that improve your dexterity but ALSO sound musical.

This video may be just noodling around on the guitar, but noodling will never get you anywhere unless you try to develop progressions that sound well together.

Good luck!

PS- Why so much non-constructive feedback? I would not expect that out of this forum.

you're swift in the finger, that's no lie,
now make it sound like music, or you won't share the pie :)

can you improvise in a certain key playing like this?
make it your next goal :)

I definitely won't play that fast, EVER, but to be honest I don't even want to - incorporating some of these licks to a solo could sound nice, but IMO speed can't dominate the whole.

I can't play fast, but I prefer to express myself by using bends and vibrato, especially in slow licks. that's what I like the most in guitar playing. Here's a little sample of my solo played in the style i like sample (quicktime). -> still, i know this may sound pretty amateur  ;)

Yes that was fast  really fast .

You cant argue about taste and this was about fast playing so it was fast thats for sure .

Would be nice to see this implemented in to a piece of a song because it was fast but sounded horrible on his own perhaps you can show us the same stuff but now as a piece of a song .....

I'd like to hear you play something slow, like blues.  It would be interesting to see and hear the difference.

Cheers
