Hi all,

New here. I've always wanted to play the guitar and finally made the jump. I've just started Justin's beginner course and find the content truly great. I'm about a month in and have been practicing daily. I'm at the end of module 2 and am almost able to play Stir it Up (beautiful song!). Can't wait to play it properly just to jam along. Hopefully my fingers with develop harder calluses soon so I don't have to press so hard to get a clear sound.

Cheers,

Which amp(s) do you own?

How long have you been playing guitar?

Do you play in a band or have you been playing in a band?

No

Why do you play guitar?

I love the sound of an acoustic.

What are your goals for the future?

I want to take songs from song books and transcribe them into James Taylor-esque finger style tablature.

You can probably buy books already transcribed, but I feel that if I transcribe them myself -and work them out-, I'll learn them quicker, and also, I can choose only the songs I'm interested in.

I use the Steinberg Dorico notation program, so that really aids in score preparation.

I also use this strangely fascinating piece of software called Band-In-A-Box to create basic accompaniments.

In my dotage, maybe, when I have a whole bunch of songs that I can play nicely, I'll entertain the other folks in the nursing home. ::)

Hello Everyone! I hope to be here awhile and encourage and be encouraged. For the years I've played guitar I should be a lot better. Not sure which Youtube video lead me to register to Justin's website but I'm really surprised at how good it is. Great resource and community. Thanks for putting it together and keeping it free.
