Hello.  :)

Nickname: Kip
Real (full) name: Paul
Age and birthday: 28
Habitat: Cumbria, UK

Which guitar(s) do you own?
Mine:
Jackson JS32T RR in white with black bevels, satin neck, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with shark fin inlays and white binding
Acoustic Solutions S-type in solid black with white pickguard, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard
Daughters:
Jackson 2/3 JS1X Minion Dinky in neon orange, satin neck, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with shark fin inlays
Rockburn 1/2 S-type in solid black, 21-fret maple fingerboard
Palma 1/4 classical in metallic blue with faux black binding, 18-fret painted black wooden fingerboard, moddified with two piezo pickups on the soundboard and a jack socket/strap button combo replacing the original strap button

Which guitar do you currently play on?
The Jackson of course! The other one is currently in bits after I snapped the tremolo block into three seperate pieces...
My daughter is back on her Palma for the softer strings until her fingers toughen up a bit.

Which amp(s) do you own?
Peavey Vypyr 15W - the older model, bought 2nd hand for not a lot of money, sounds great, stupid levels of loudness for our living room and more effects than I know what to do with.
Line 6 Spider II 15W - a gift from my father-in-law who didn't use it, no where near as nice sounding or as loud as the Peavy, but much easier to use.
Acoustic Solutions 10W - clean is okay, the overdrive is pretty bad but it's still a usable practice amp if you put a bridge humbucker through it with ideal amp settings.
Rockburn Mini Amp - can be battery or mains powered, probably the worst amp in the world, makes nasty hissing and popping noises mostly so we don't use it.

How long have you been playing guitar?
Define "playing"!

I first held an acoustic guitar (or classical, I don't know for sure) when I was around 10 years old and even took lessons in school along with a couple of friends. I didn't learn a thing though and it was just an excuse to get out of regular class. At 16 I got my first electric guitar, an Acoustic Solutions S-type guitar out of Argos, which came with an awful little amp. However, I was on my own at this point, no lessons, no YouTube help back then, just tabs found online. I didn't get very far and quickly lost interest. Over the years I kept picking it up and tried to learn something, odd riffs here and there but I just never stuck at it.

In the winter of 2017 I decided I would try again for the sake of teaching my daughter how to play. Her granddad has been playing for over 50 years and wants to leave all his musical equipment, including about a dozen electric guitars, to her when he passes away. I thought that teaching her would be a great motivator for myself to learn and be good for her to get a somewhat musical upbringing that I wish I'd been lucky enough to have myself. So far it has kept me going with a lot more success than my previous attempts.

Which is/are your favourite music genre(s)?
Rock and Metal, I can listen to most genres including Pop but can not tolerate Hip Hop, Rap, Dance, Rave, that sort of thing. Classical also finds its way into my brain every now and again, along with music from favourite old video games.

Which genre do you play on your guitar often?
I'm not sure my playing classes as a genre, perhaps Noise would be appropriate?

Who are your favourite bands?
Apocalypitca, Dream Theater, Metallica, Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, etc

What inspired you to start playing guitar?
My daughter did, this time around at least.

Do you play in a band or have you been playing in a band?
Not yet, maybe one day if I ever have the chance and have the skills for it.

Why do you play guitar?
For my own enjoyment and so that I am able to teach my daughter how to play what I think is the most expressive musical instrument mankind has ever created.

What are your goals for the future?
I would like to be able to compose my own music someday through the guitar when both my skill and music theory are up to speed. I've recently discovered I am obsessed with how guitars are built and would like to have a go myself when space and money allow. I'd also like to pick up the Ukelele at some point too, because why not?

I will be starting a Road Case for the two of us so keep an eye out for that!

Which guitar(s) do you own?
The cheapest electric guitar I could find.

Which guitar do you currently play on?
You're using "play" very loosely here, but I only have the one.

Which amp(s) do you own?
Whatever came with the guitar.

How long have you been playing guitar?
If you mean "manipulating the instrument in an attempt to get controlled sounds out of it", about 26 hours.

Which is/are your favorite music genre(s)?
Classic rock, '50s and '60s, folk.

Which genre do you play on your guitar often?
If "badly formed D Chord" is a genre, that one.

Who are your favorite bands?
The Beatles and Pink Floyd have been the ones I've listened to the most over the years.

What inspired you to start playing guitar?
I really have no clue.  I was sitting on the couch, watching TV, and the thought of learning the guitar popped into my head.  After giving it some time to make sure it wasn't just the bourbon, the idea was still there.
I suppose it's time for my midlife crisis, and I can't afford a sports car?

Do you play in a band or have you been playing in a band?
No. Oh, no no NO.  I'm barely qualified to listen to a band.

Why do you play guitar?
I don't, yet.  But I hope to be able to learn and play for my own entertainment, and possibly one day to entertain friends.  Also, it's something I have no knowledge about, so it's a challenge to myself to pick up a new skill.

What are your goals for the future?
At this point: I just want my hand to stop hurting when I try to "play".
Long term: Have fun, chill out, and enjoy life.
