Indie.

Mumford and Sons, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Ed Sheeran & Passenger.

I would absolutely love to if I found the time.  Right now, I'm not in anything official.  But hopefully that'll change soon.

So many reasons.  But it provides peace of mind, and deepens my love of music. It allows me to feel like I am still in control, even when the world tries to teach me otherwise.  It's a bit of a safe harbour for me.

What are your goals for the future?
I want to continue playing, never give up, and hopefully just have the opportunity to touch a few people with my music.

I'm kind of new to guitar playing.  I started out well with lessons and have a few guitars as of now!  In 2013 I was training for a bicycle race and was hit by a car.  After trying to play right hand I have found out that I can't play well, not that I played well before.  So I guess I will need to convert to playing left handed.  So I have a bunch of right guitar s that I can barely play.  But I think I can overcome this!

Hey dasingle: are you right or left handed? If you're right handed, maybe that hand needs some more attention from the doctor? I'm a lefty myself, and i don't see myself playing with my right hand. (I've tried at first, but it became clear, very soon that i'm to play left handed). Kudos to you if you're truly ambidextrous, that's a gift afaik.
I'll get it in the end. Just don't give up, that's the key....

I'm a right handed person!  Talked to the good doctors about this there is not much that can be done!  I can't straighten enough to fret it yet looking at an playing a lefty Taylor I can strum and finger pick no problems! So I guess I will try going left.  Thanks! To be good enough to hangout and play at camp fires on vaction

Hey all. Been attempting to play for electric guitar for some time. I think I might be the suckiest guitarist of all time.  I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ever gonna play worth a dang. I'm near to giving up and taking up golf.

What's the secret to playing electric cleanly. I get a bunch of noise, with notes ringing out.

Anyone have some last ditch effort suggestions?..

Practice is a good thing!  As you practice more your fingerings will improve.  As far as being a sucky player you can't have that honor, that's mine

@Bengowah,

if you're feeling up to it, start with Justin's beginners course. Keep at it and do the work that's presented there. I've started out from scratch and it helped me A LOT!!. With the help of the forum here, and the BC, you'll be playing songs and having fun at it too.

Don't forget to stop by here: https://www.justinguitar.com/en/PC-000-Practice.php and you're on your way.

The main trick is to keep at it and do the work. At first, slowly. Speed and accuracy come in time. (aka; with enough practice).
But above all, have fun with playing the guitar. As long as you like/love playing ,everything else comes almost natural. (And with good solid practice ofcourse)

Now go work that course.  ;D
I'll get it in the end. Just don't give up, that's the key....

@Bengowah

I will add: if you are a beginner to electric guitar, do NOT try to learn with high-gain settings on your amp.

Whilst this suit the style of music you ultimately want to learn, you need to learn the basics and you need to do that without the problems of managing high-gain which is not only difficult to control, but can also mask bad technique.

Learning how to play with high gain is a challenge in itself, and it's something you will need to do eventually, but ONLY after you have got to grips with basic technique. High gain requires a clean technique and good muting skills. The former needs to be learned before you crank the gain up.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,

Keith
