Thank you for the reply. I am going to start with the Stage 1 Practice Schedule next monday. Do you have some advice regarding time of day to practice and if I should practice more then the suggested time?

Hi and wecome.
As a beginner myself, can I suggest you ask this question in a month or two if things aren’t working for you. You’ll find the time of day that fits in with your life schedule and the sore fingertips will dictate how long you practice!
Stick in and happy pluckin’.
Started with JG Feb 2018. BC completed, now on IM & Fingerstyle. Played a bit as a teenager in the 60’s & 70’s, then life got in the way.

Real name:    Tony
Age and birthday:   64
Habitat: North West England

Which guitar(s) do you own?   None... Use the GeoShred app on Ipad Pro 11

Which guitar do you currently play on?    See above

Which amp(s) do you own?    Ditto

How long have you been playing guitar?     I started playing in my teens and stopped playing about 20 to 30 years ago when I started with Psoriatic Arthritis. In the early stages pain in the fingers / hands meant that it was impossible to play. In the later stages, prior to establishing the current medication, my fingers has been damaged so that barring or even playing two notes at once on the guitar was impossible. So I was in the frustrating position of having lots of knowledge, the money to buy the guitars that I might want but no physical means of playing... until I found Geoshred. This allows my to play (virtual) guitar on the Ipad and I really enjoying (trying to) make music these days with the app and Justin's great lessons!

Which is/are your favorite music genre(s)?    Modern Jazz, Rock, Classical

Which genre do you play on your guitar often?    mainly stuff that Justin has covered as most of my likes are beyond me (see below)

Who are your favourite bands?    Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, most of artists on ECM label...

What inspired you to start playing guitar?    It was what you did as a teenager

Do you play in a band or have you been playing in a band?    No

Why do you play guitar?    Great to be able to get guitar like sounds out of something again!

What are your goals for the future?    Continue with Justin's lessons, I am dipping in and out but currently around Intermediate Foundation 5.

Cheers... Tony

What inspired you to start playing?
I have played the drums since I was 10 and noodled around with friends guitars but never got more than the Iron Man intro. Not now. In middle school and high school I played drums in a band.

Why do you play guitar?
For pleasure, and keep my mind sharp learning new things.

Future goals:
guitar wise, get as good as I can with the time I have.

Hello all !

I'm Colin and just starting to learn guitar ... for the THIRD time.

The first time, I lost interest, as the course I chose was too oriented to reading music at the start - boring. The second time, my tutor's approach didn't seem to work for me - and he tried hard, and so did I.

Then, I discovered Justin's course and this rekindled my enthusiasm.
Here, I seem to be making "good" progress.

All the best. Colin

Forgot to use the template when I first posted the stuff above...

Many sorts ... Rock, Electric, World music

Which genre do you play on your guitar often?
Nothing yet.

Who are your favorite bands?
Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin, ...

What inspired you to start playing guitar?
The mental/physical/coordination challenges and ... the sound when it's done well.

Do you play in a band or have you been playing in a band?
Nobody would have me ... Yet !

Why do you play guitar?
Beautiful sound, when played well.

What are your goals for the future?

Hey just thought I’d stop by and say hello.

I stumble across the song course app on my iPad and worked my way through stage one, then when I realised I’d got to subscribe, I left it and thought that’s was the end of Justins free lessons.... safe to say I now know thats a separate course and I have started working through Justin’s actual beginners course online 🙈

Yes usually there is always a nasty hidden surprise, but not here :)

I've already purchased the beginners song book as a way of saying thank you (although I'm not at a stage where I can play anything yet)
