Hello Everyone
I am a 65 year old Welsh dude who has always wanted to learn how to play the guitar but there never was enough time in the day what with work and family commitments. Well now i've retired and thought why not now. Its never too late is it lol. So i splashed out on a Yamaha Pacifica 112VM. I am a beginner guitarist and always open to any and all help and advice. I like most genre of music except reggae and rap. Hope that's enough?

What inspired you to start playing guitar?
Girls... Nah, years of listning David Gilmour's legendary playing in Pink Floyd.

The band of me blowing everyone else's hears.

Hey Justin, How ya'doin! - Anatole here.
A massive thanks for your fantastic array of lessons all available free on your website. It is really useful to be able to pick and choose the ones I want, but also to flick through the basics to make sure I have covered everything there. Tabs were totally new to me - I can read music, but never saw a tab before. I just used to listen to stuff and write it down for myself in the old days before the internet.

You have really encouraged me to get back into picking up the guitar again. So much so, I rewired my knackered old Les Paul copy and did a bit of retail therapy and bought a nice new steel string to help make it happen … and of course, I bought a couple of your books to help and let you know how much I appeciate your great venture.

It must be a funny feeling to know that there are thousands of people out here who feel they know you really well through your lessons. We spend many hours of 1-to-1 tuition either side of a screen and it feels like you are part of the family. I’ll be in touch again to let you know how it progresses. Thanks again mate, Anatole

Listening to my parents' old records, my brother and I were drawn to music. We both got a drum set (to share) for Christmas one year, and both started learning that at the same time. Well, he was getting better than me... so I decided to quit the drums and pickup a guitar. So glad I did that! We were able to play together at that point, which made a big difference in how I learned to play.
