Title: Strumming App or tool.
Post by: DUrquhart on October 13, 2019, 12:22:58 am
Does anyone know if there is an app or online tool that can let you create a specific strumming pattern and set a bpm which you then strum along to? Would something like that really useful for working on timing and getting the rhythmn right. Found an app called 8strummer which would have perfect but it doesn't do 16th note strumming patterns, aargh.

Cheers

I use the Rhythm Sight Reading Trainer from the Apple app store
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rhythm-sight-reading-trainer/id396302174

I have used this to create & practice all of the strumming patterns. One of the nice features is that it can use you microphone to listen to your strumming and then tell you if you are fast, slow or right on, unfortunately you can only do this with muted strings that produce a percussive sound. I also use it as a metronome for chords changes. In this mode it won't tell you if you are out of time but the ticks will only sound on the strums (up or down) that you actually play. And it can do 16th notes.

Hope this helps
