Title: (action) cam, for dark, indoor gigs
Post by: LievenDV on January 02, 2017, 02:58:47 pm
hi guys,

I'd like to make more video+audio recordings of our live gigs but most of them are inside, in pretty dark circumstances. Reviews tell you more about how well it works, how sturdy it is etc but I haven't found out yet which one would be great for indoor gigs. Good sound reception would be nice but image is more important, As I can use an external recording device. A small portable device would be nice, as I already have so much gear to drag along and I rather spend money on guitar stuff than a high end camera :).

Is there anybody here with experience with small camera's that work great in darker earea's like, your average heavy metal gig? :)

One you could have a look at is this:
I use one of these for aerial photography on my Quadcopter and have found it to be very good at coping with variable light conditions - it stabilises fairly quickly and with the correct settings copes well with low light.
A quick review:

As much as I think they're overpriced, my original GoPro HD was reasonable in low light, and the newer cams are better.
I can't tell you how much better though, as despite owning a GoPro Black since just after they came out, my mate's had it for the past couple years as I just was not using it.
