Title: Why wont Justins videos appear when I click on a lesson
Post by: chipbutty on April 30, 2016, 12:57:06 pm
Hi all,
New to this posting lark. Sorry.

Im on my laptop running Win 7 home edition system.
When I clicked on any lesson or song instruction from the homepage, I used to get the video as a selection without having to go to youtube....
Have things changed or am I just another dumbass who has missed something.
Please guide me.

Cheers

Are you getting anything about "Activate Adobe Flash" when you go to a page with a video on it? I've got Flash set so it has to ask permission to run, so I always get a gray "video screen" box where Justin's video would be, with that "Activate" prompt in white letters in the middle of it. When I click the prompt, another little box appears near the top of the browser, with "Allow now" and Allow and remember" options. Once I allow Flash to run, the usual YouTube-type video screen appears.
What browser are you using, and do you have the Flash plugin on it?

Hi 12 string.
thanks for your speedy help.
Im using Firefox, and that used to happen for me also.
But now I dont even get the question come up.
Do I need an add on? If so could you tell me please which one i choose.

Also I dont think I have flashplayer.

Flashplayer or shockwave flash always confuse me,,so i dont know which to have. I understand that one of them is not safe.

Could you please gude me on what to download for that...?

Appreciated very much.
Cheers Steve.

You need the Adobe Shockwave Player Add-on installed to see the videos in Firefox. Firefox also just calls this the "Flash Player". It is often considered to be unsafe, and needs to be updated regularly for Firefox to keep using it. You can set an option to ask for your confirmation to enable it, just as 12-string-doug said.
