Title: combining 8th and 16th note patterns
Post by: allanon on September 25, 2010, 04:33:13 pm
hi guys.. this question is for those who have purchased the RUGS 3 and have worked through it.. my question is, when i combine the 8th note and 16 notes together(such as the patterns in exercise 7.2) and translate those patterns on my guitar, for the 8th notes do i go Down Down, or Down up? when i try the latter it feels kind of weird especially when the next pattern is a 16th note.. im thinking it'd be more consistent if i do Down Down because the speed of the strumming hand would be the same as when i move on to 16th notes, but im not sure myself. any thoughts?

thanks for your replies

As soon as you have 16th note pattersn anywhere you would play the 8th notes as down down.

You have to keep the hand moving all the time in a consisten manner (where possible!).

Hope that nails it for you!
