Wake me up when september ends
« on: March 18, 2012, 12:16:26 pm »
Comment please :D. I've got problems with mixing, because everything was recorded in the attic. It's not perfect, I know that ;). And I also used some backing track (bells and that stuff).

Hi Glp.

Thought that was really good. Nice vocals - is that the natural reverb of the attic? Good backing track and very nice playing.

Good stuff.

Thanks digger!
And yes, it's natural reverb.

good job, guitar part seems pretty solid to me. vocal timing is somewhat hit and miss but never enough that it spoils it.

Well you're ready for the road show of American Idiot the musical.
I think this is charming but that you should keep singing it until you are so comfortable with it that you can sing it in your sleep.   It will get better that way.   I think it's the only way to make a song take off.  Because that 's when you take over instead of trying to get it right.     Of course I'm still working on it. :)
I really enjoyed this.

Best

Thanks for the advice Pat the Bunny. I'll tell that to our singer.

Sounds good dude. Vocals sounds alittle unsure sometimes though. Time and practice takes care of that anyway. Guitars are solid!

hey man that was pretty cool :) the vocals are quite sketchy in parts but the guitar sounds bang on.. what are you recording through? and you should upgrade to a better mic to go along with that because the quality of the guitar to vocal is far out.. imagine if you had it mixed properly?!

@NJDizzle:
First - Thanks :D!
Second - We're using an old mixer. There's no logo on it anymore, but I think that's Behringer. And yeah, we're thinking about Shure SM 57 or Rode NT-1.

You have the vocal qualities, I think there is quite a potential but it's a just a bit of insecurity, a bit lack of daring to really sing to the fullest.
That little extra bit will give a pinch more dynamics and character.
Practice will bring confidence and technique.

your timing isn't 100%; it's good in the beginning but it gets a bit sloppy to the end.
You get a bit washed away by the guitars in the heavier part...but that's just mix, that's a detail. Sound quality wasn't as bad as you think.

you seem to have a good vocal range already; keep at it;
you're certainly good enough to both sing and play, did you record this singing and playing at once?

Thanks for all this advices :)! In next 2 weeks we have 2 "gigs" - two schools have their anniversary.
And yeah everything was recorded at same time :).
And new recordings are comming - I just have to mixed everything.
