Had a HUGE crush on Davy when I was 11, 12.  Posters all over my bedroom wall.  He sang, "I wanna be free, like the bluebirds flying by me..."  Well he's free and flying and singing with bluebirds.

R.I.P. Davy who was also my favorite Monkee scary he died so young he was only 6 yrs older than me

He was in my local pub a few years ago ..... a really nice guy by all accounts ... his niece lives across the road from us and he came over from the USA for her wedding

yes he was a nice guy here in the US too had a place in Pa, and in Fla where he had a ranch with horses, he had a web site called Davy Jones.net where he shared family pictures and would take time to talk with fans on the web and on the radio..had a real sense of humor, a true man who never let fame get to his head.

   @Happyjack, yeh happy,  he was born in gorton ,m/cr.  near where i used to live , i think his family are still in the stockport area i take it your near hazel grove. :)

We are in High Lane which is the village after Hazel Grove on the way up to New Mills and Buxton. His sister lives just around the corner from us and his niece just opposite

Gorton eh? One of my mates was one of Gorton Morris Men - they must have been the toughest morris dancing troop in country. They got in a big scrap once with some idiots who thought it would be funny to drive through them on the road by a pub car park as they danced. Unfortunately for them the road was a dead end and they had to turn round and come back..... The Gorton lads nearly overturned their car on the way back

We used to go on the rush cart and the Ceilidh afterwards - happy times with much drinking ;D

Ronnie Montrose played briefly in a band that I used to work for. He was kind of an ass, but a good guitarist. Rock Candy was one of my favorite Montrose songs.

can't imagine Star Wars without his artistic gift, he was way ahead of his time who will leave a  legacy for future generations to enjoy
