Looking at the Min 7 arpeggio shapes just now, and I know the lesson says don't get it confused with the pentatonic shapes, but....

I can't help but notice that the Min7 arpeggio is pretty much the pentatonic minor scale with the 4th pulled out.

That's exactly what it is.  Good eye.

Would the minor 7th arpeggios be the best place to start if I'm really just interested in the blues? I figured since they're similar to the minor pentatonic scale, I should start here as opposed to the dominant 7th's (?).

@Arturo,  Check out this lesson on scale choices for the blues.
http://www.justinguitar.com/en/BL-102-ScaleChoicesInBlues.php
You'll want to learn the pentatonic scale and it's variations (blues scale, Dorian mode) first.

Then learn your dominate arpeggios.

Also check out the arpeggio lessons.  In the first one Justin recommends an order to learn them.  He starts with the E shape and A shape dominant 7 first.

Hi. I am fingerpickng the CAGED arpeggios, what fingering to use with my picking hand...?
If there is no consistent fingering then what is the best approach?

This is for minor 7th arpeggios.
What do you mean by CAGED arpeggios?

When finger picking the rule of thumb(no pun intended) :) The thumb plays the E A D string and the Index,
Middle and/or Ring fingers play the G B e string. Some only use the index and middle.
This is only a guide line and not written in stone. In some cases it's easier and quicker to use your thumb
and index on the E A D strings.
