Looking at the Min 7 arpeggio shapes just now, and I know the lesson says don't get it confused with the pentatonic shapes, but....
I can't help but notice that the Min7 arpeggio is pretty much the pentatonic minor scale with the 4th pulled out.

Would the minor 7th arpeggios be the best place to start if I'm really just interested in the blues? I figured since they're similar to the minor pentatonic scale, I should start here as opposed to the dominant 7th's (?).

@Arturo, Check out this lesson on scale choices for the blues.
http://www.justinguitar.com/en/BL-102-ScaleChoicesInBlues.php
You'll want to learn the pentatonic scale and it's variations (blues scale, Dorian mode) first.
Then learn your dominate arpeggios.

Also check out the arpeggio lessons. In the first one Justin recommends an order to learn them. He starts with the E shape and A shape dominant 7 first.
